Chicken is always my number one choice. This time, it’s chicken rice bowl. Especially if you love spicy fried chicken, you have to try it here. It feels just like the ones in Japan. I ordered the spicy fried chicken rice bowl. They prepare and season the fried chicken themselves a day before serving. It looks so delicious, like something out of a comic book. It’s really filling and might have a slight kick to it. When you eat it with the rice and cabbage underneath, it’s a perfect combination. The texture is truly crispy. It’s crispy on the outside, yet tender like pudding on the inside. You can taste the rich chicken broth as well. The teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise complement it so well. After having this chicken rice bowl, I feel like I need to come back again.
The owner here is nicknamed “Gombara.” They reinterpret Japanese-Chinese dishes they used to enjoy during their study abroad days in their own unique style. The restaurant is located between Sadang Station and Isu Station. Exit 11 of Sadang Station is the closest. It’s nestled in a quiet residential area, so it’s peaceful, allowing you to focus on your meal. It’s a pleasant neighborhood to take a leisurely walk after your meal. Once you’re done eating, you can also explore the nearby food alley in Sadang.
