Today’s cheat day choice is Guobaorou. It’s seriously the top of the charts now. There are not enough exclamations to describe it. I like that it’s not too sweet. The sweetness rolls up just right with a hint of garlic, like a kimbap. It’s crispy, not moist. The meat is plump. The base is chewy and it remains satisfyingly crispy till the end. The tartness is just right, with the sweetness following suit. The garlic aroma is also sufficiently strong. The chewiness remains even when it’s dipped heavily in the sauce. You must also try the lamb skewers here. No gamey smell. They are not tough but rather tender. You need to order at least two servings. There are ten pieces per serving. It’s important to continuously grill the lamb skewers at a high heat and timely shift them to the side.

The place is pleasant though a bit cramped inside. It operates with two tables for two and four tables for four. There are many eateries around Chonker area due to the universities, but it lacks attractions for a tourist spot. If you want to enjoy the vibe of a quiet neighborhood, I recommend walking along Jungnang Stream.
