It’s a dark red tteokbokki with rice cakes made from wheat flour, well seasoned. It definitely passes the test here. The sweetness is just right, not too sweet. This place doesn’t have that artificial spiciness; it’s the pleasant kind of spicy that I like, enough to blow away any stress. The sauce is slightly thick. Aside from the seasoning, it only contains scallions, fish cakes, and wheat rice cakes, staying true to the basics. The combination with fried tempura is also good. The frying is really clean, seems like it’s done in good oil. I finished a satisfying meal of street food.
I haven’t seen anyone around who dislikes tteokbokki. A person I know does morning tteokbokki. This place captivates with its visuals. It’s a salivation controller. Located about midway through Hwayang Jeil Market near Exit 1 of Konkuk University Station, you feel the warmth of the market the moment you step in. It’s a well-known tteokbokki hotspot in the market that those in the know, know well. It has a history of about 25 years. It was worth the trip to visit this place.
