I’ve got this buddy who’s all about trying local Jjajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodle) whenever he travels. According to him, comparing the flavors of Jjajangmyeon from different regions is a blast. Now, Jeju’s got its fair share of Chinese joints, but I had to hit up Myeongwol Chinese Restaurant.
Went for the classics: Black Bean Noodle and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). Let me tell you, that Tangsuyuk was next-level. Juicy, thick meat lightly fried for a crispy outside and tender inside. And the sweet sauce? A perfect match. It’s the ultimate pairing with the Black Bean Noodle.
Come dinnertime, the neighborhood’s dim, with only the Myeongwol Banjang sign glowing red. They’re open pretty late, till about 8 pm, so it’s your go-to for a late-night feast. Cravings for Jjajangmyeon always hit unexpectedly, and this place nails it every time. Total charm vibes.
Now, if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the menu, go for the Myeongwol Set Meal. It’s got everything: Jjajangmyeon, Jjamppong, Tangsuyuk, and fried rice, all on one epic plate. I don’t know about you, but I always wanna try everything at a Chinese spot, and this meal solves that problem in one fell swoop. Seriously, local Chinese joints need to take notes from these guys.
