When you go to Busan, it’s a must-visit place. Located on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, this raw fish restaurant has a unique name. The restaurant’s name is โ€œPeojuneun Jipโ€ which means The House that Serves Fish, and it lives up to its name by serving only the freshest seafood. This longstanding local favorite exudes a vintage atmosphere from the moment you step inside.

First, I ordered the assorted raw fish. Although the one in the photo is the large size, even ordering the small size is enough for two people. The layers of finely sliced raw fish are stacked like a tower. The glistening, well-marbled raw fish is incredibly chewy and tender. It’s so moist and springy that it dances in your mouth. We dipped it in sesame leaves with green chili peppers, garlic, and soy sauce. This is how sashimi should be enjoyed.

Even though we ate something before, we were still surprisingly eating a lot. That’s how delicious it was. We kept eating without realizing we were full. That’s how chewy and charming this raw fish restaurant is. The alcohol goes down smoothly. It used to be a place only known to locals, but now it’s popular, so be mindful when visiting.
