Kicking off the Daejeon Tour with Tonkatsu! Unfortunately, the top sirloin and sirloin are sold out, so I only ordered the tenderloin. No wonder it melts in your mouth; the juicy meat fills your mouth with flavor. You can even taste the tonkatsu with salt first – it’s so smooth, it’s almost like gelato. And the tempura has the perfect crispness to it. If you’re in Seoul, you can’t miss it twice a week. The quality is top-notch. Next time, I’ll definitely try the top sirloin and sirloin.
All of WOOTZ’s cutlets are cooked at 62 degrees to medium, ensuring they’re tender and juicy. With every bite, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how moist it is. If you order the tonkatsu, it comes with Japanese miso soup, rice, pickled wasabi, and soy sauce – an elegant combination that makes for a delightful meal.
The atmosphere is simple yet inviting. Sitting at the bar, you can watch the tonkatsu being prepared right before your eyes. The restaurant can seat up to 15 people at a time, and while they don’t take reservations, the wait is well worth it. For many, this could be the tonkatsu experience of a lifetime. Located in Galidan-gil, Galmadong, Daejeon, this is a culinary adventure you must embark on in Daejeon!
