This tteokbokki is just like the ones we used to eat after school in the old days. It’s run by twin sisters, and you can see “Twin Sisters” written on the signboard. The place looks neat and well-maintained after remodeling. When you order kimbap and yakimandu, they serve it separately from the tteokbokki sauce. The kimbap has a soft texture and goes well with the tteokbokki. It brings back nostalgic memories of the past. The tteokbokki is truly sweet, with a lot of sugar, which adds to its charm. One bite, and your mouth will be filled with sweetness. It’s quite addictive, like it has caffeine in it. The wheat rice cakes have chewy texture, just like chewing gum.
Sinsa Market is a very old and small market, feeling like traveling back in time. It’s located inside an old apartment complex in Apgujeong. The tteokbokki shop is at the back of the building, and you can easily find it with the line of people waiting. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Apgujeong Station, Exit 1. After finishing your meal, a nice idea is to take a walk around Hyundai Department Store and then head to Apgujeong Rodeo. Please note that they are closed every Sunday.
