A foreign friend asked me in Korean – ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿผ :’Where else can we find Best Ttockbokki?’ Confidently respond by suggesting Soongeum’s Tteokbokki in Achasan. Their tteokbokki is consistently of high quality, and the owner even judges tteokbokki competitions. She’s a true master.

It’s been a while since I last indulged, having recently overcome my infamous weight struggles. As I sit down, I find myself in trouble alreadyโ€”my mouth watering at the mere anticipation of the food. The aroma of the tteokbokki fills the air, overpowering my senses. The rice cakes are plump and soft, offering a delightful texture.

I take a sip of water to reset my palate before diving in. With a deep breath, I generously coat the rice cakes with sauce, resembling logs on the shore of a red lake, and top them with sesame leaves. I take a bite, chewing vigorously, and can’t help but furrow my brow in admiration. The moderate spiciness adds a stimulating kick, igniting a fiery sensation.

But there’s a crucial step to enhance the experienceโ€”sprinkling tempura powder like cereal. This adds a crispy texture that elevates the dish to chef-level status, bursting with flavor and detail. And of course, this experience is best enjoyed with loved ones. I had to order 3 portion of a combination of tteokbokki, Fritters to go.
